Quick Answer
The new Bang Bang mode is a fast 5v5 mode on the MLBB advanced server. At the eight-minute mark, both teams summon a golem, the map shrinks to a small mid lane area, and the first team to kill the enemy golem wins. There are no hero restrictions, and up to two nearby players can collect full gold and experience from minions and creeps.
Moonton’s latest advanced server update adds a completely different way to play Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The new Bang Bang mode replaces the usual base race with one short, chaotic team fight, and it lands alongside buffs for Natalia, Atlas, and Aldos plus nerfs for Masha and Dory.
The mode is still being tested on the advanced server, so numbers and availability may shift before it reaches the live game. Even so, the patch notes paint a clear picture of how it plays and which heroes feel the difference.
How the new Bang Bang mode works
Matches stay 5v5, but the pacing is tighter than a normal ranked game. A few rules stand out right away:
- No hero restrictions. You can pick whoever you want, with none of the usual draft limits applied.
- Shared farming. Up to two nearby players each receive the full gold and experience from minions and creeps, so lane partners do not have to split rewards.
- The eight-minute golem. Both teams summon a golem, the battlefield collapses into a small mid lane area, and the match is decided by a single brawl around those golems.
Because there is no base push, early leads still matter, but the final outcome hinges on one fight. Farm safely, group early, and treat the golem window as the whole game.
The three Bang Bang variants
Three variants share the same core rules and rotate every three days. Overdrive was scheduled to appear first, but Skilldraft is the only version currently playable in the test build.
Bang Bang Skilldraft
Anyone who remembers the old Hyperblend mode will feel at home here. You gain an extra skill from another hero, and unlike Hyperblend, you can swap that skill as the match goes on. Selection chances arrive at the one-minute, four-minute, and seven-minute marks, and the options mix random draws with tier-based picks. Instead of adding another skill each time, you replace the one you already hold, so you can rebuild your combination on the fly. The extra skill also levels up with each round, which keeps later choices relevant.
Bang Bang Overdrive
This variant revives the old Overdrive feel with faster cooldown reduction, higher attack speed, and raised caps for both stats. Level and equipment limits go up as well. On top of that, the Overdrive Core adds a rotating power spike: after the first skill, one random player receives a 60-second buff that boosts their cooldown reduction and attack speed beyond the standard caps, and a different player gets it each minute. Once the match hits six minutes, everyone gains an Overdrive Core, so the closing minutes turn into an all-out burst fight.
Bang Bang Physique
Here, your hero keeps growing over the course of the match. You pick a task at the start, and finishing it hands you physique potions that raise your hero stats. The developers state there is no ceiling on how much those stats can increase. Whether hero models physically grow larger alongside their stats is still unconfirmed, so that question stays open until the variant goes live.
Hero buffs and nerfs in this patch
Several heroes received tuning, mostly aimed at early-game pacing and damage consistency.
| Hero | Change | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Natalia | Buff | Her passive now converts stats: every 1% critical chance becomes 3 physical attack, and every 1% critical damage becomes 2 physical attack. Ultimate base damage rises from 660 to 900 up to a range of 660 to 1,320. |
| Atlas | Buff | During Frigid Breath, his passive defense improves from 20 plus 0.5% of extra HP to 25 plus 0.8% of extra HP, so HP items now give more durability after he engages. |
| Aldos | Buff | Second skill cooldown drops from 9.5 seconds to 8 seconds, giving him more frequent access to its defensive and crowd control effects. |
| Dory | Nerf | First skill and ultimate cooldowns move from a 12 to 10 second range to 14 to 10 seconds. Maximum-level cooldowns stay the same, so only the early game slows down. |
| Masha | Nerf | Passive extra physical damage falls from 3% to 2% of the target’s max HP, HP regeneration drops from 4% to 10% down to 3% to 6%, and second skill damage shifts from 120 to 240 plus 80% extra physical attack to 60 to 240 plus 40%. |
Natalia should feel steadier when she builds critical items, while Masha loses some of the sustain and early burst her rework gave her. Atlas gains staying power after initiation, and Dory and Aldos simply get their rotations retuned in opposite directions.
Glowing lantern changes on the battlefield
Carrying the golden lantern used to feel like a punishment, since enemies naturally hunted the holder. Two new buffs fix that imbalance:
- Quick respawnYour first death each round comes with a greatly reduced respawn timer, so an early gank costs less time.
- Extra bountyWhile you hold the lantern, kills on minions, creeps, and enemy heroes pay substantially more gold, and assists pay a bonus too.
Combined, these effects let the bearer build an economic lead while alive and get back into the fight quickly after the first fall. The lantern is now an opportunity rather than only a target on your back.
New aiming and camera options
Directional aiming indicators now work for certain heroes even when basic attack smart targeting is switched off. Hold and drag the basic attack button and the indicator appears, which helps players who prefer manual control.
The fixed camera offset option gives you a wider view without constant screen dragging:
- Tap the small camera buttonThe camera shifts toward your hero’s current movement direction.
- Tap it againThe camera returns to its normal centered position.
- Hold the camera buttonA direction wheel opens. Drag toward the side you want to watch and release to lock the offset.
Both additions are quality-of-life fixes rather than balance changes, but they make long fights easier to read.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the new Bang Bang mode in MLBB?
It is a fast 5v5 mode on the advanced server with no hero restrictions and shared gold and experience for up to two nearby players. At eight minutes, both teams summon a golem, the play area shrinks to a small mid lane space, and killing the enemy golem wins the match instead of destroying a base.
Which Bang Bang variant is available right now?
Bang Bang Skilldraft is the only variant currently available in the test build, even though Overdrive was meant to rotate in first. All three variants rotate every three days, so Overdrive and Physique should follow later.
Which heroes were buffed and nerfed in this update?
Natalia, Atlas, and Aldos received buffs, with Natalia gaining stat conversion from critical chance and critical damage plus a stronger ultimate. Masha and Dory were nerfed, mainly through lower damage, weaker regeneration, and longer early cooldowns.
How does the glowing lantern work after the patch?
The bearer now gets quick respawn after their first death each round and extra gold from minions, creeps, hero kills, and assists. Those rewards make holding the lantern more profitable instead of purely risky.
Is the new Bang Bang mode worth testing?
If you enjoy short, high-tempo matches, the new Bang Bang mode is worth a few games on the advanced server, especially with Skilldraft live and its swappable extra skill. Watch how the golem fight plays out before you commit to a late-game build, since the eight-minute window decides everything.
