MLBB Patch 2.2.28

MLBB Patch 2.2.28 just landed, and it does far more than nudge a few damage numbers. Natalia receives a full revamp, eight heroes shift in both directions, and a new battlefield effect enters testing.

The headline change is the assassin everyone loves to hate. Below is every change worth knowing, from Natalia’s new smoke mechanics to the skins, emotes, and community tools shipping alongside them.

Quick Answer

MLBB Patch 2.2.28 overhauls Natalia’s passive, skill two, and ultimate, buffs Masha, Lylia, Aldous, Balmond, and Popol and Kupa, and nerfs Gloo, Atlas, and Dyrroth. Barats sees his experimental changes reverted. The Glowing Lantern battlefield effect is in testing, Golden Turret gains early hybrid defense, and Healing Turtle rewards now roughly match a minion wave.

Natalia’s Revamp in MLBB Patch 2.2.28

The biggest swing of this patch belongs to Natalia. Her passive, skill two, and ultimate all get reworked, and the changes add combo options while keeping her ambush identity intact.

Passive: Assassin Instinct

Assassin Instinct still lets Natalia enter conceal after hiding in a bush. The difference is what happens once she’s hidden. Concealed Natalia now automatically applies full stacks of Alert Mark to nearby enemy heroes and creeps.

An enhanced basic attack then strikes those targets at maximum stacks. Conceal still has limits, since staying too close to an enemy hero for too long ends it.

Skill 1: Claw Dash

Claw Dash keeps its directional dash and the recast after hitting an enemy. Natalia’s basic mobility stays familiar, so old muscle memory still carries over.

Skill 2: Wild Pursuit

Wild Pursuit is where the combo potential grows. Natalia releases smoke that helps her enter conceal faster, and taking damage inside that smoke no longer breaks her conceal.

Dashing outward from the smoke with Claw Dash or an enhanced basic attack extends the smoke in that direction. That gives her more room to chase a target or slip away after a pick.

Ultimate: Shadow Flurry

Shadow Flurry dashes Natalia to a target location and strikes nearby enemies multiple times for physical damage. Natalia becomes invincible while attacking, which lets her commit to an engage without instantly folding.

How the New Combo Works

  1. Hide in a bush to trigger Assassin Instinct and auto-apply full Alert Mark stacks to nearby heroes and creeps.
  2. Cast Wild Pursuit to drop smoke, which speeds up conceal and stops incoming damage from interrupting it.
  3. Dash outward with Claw Dash or an enhanced basic attack to stretch the smoke and close the gap.
  4. Finish with Shadow Flurry for multiple physical damage hits while invincible.

Any marksman in the lane should start checking those bushes more carefully.

Hero Adjustments in MLBB Patch 2.2.28

Beyond Natalia, the patch moves eight heroes. Two of them simply get last week’s experiments undone.

DyrrothSkill 2 cooldown 3.5s to 4.5sSlower skill rotations
BaratsLast week’s experimental changes revertedReturns to previous state

Buffs

Masha gets the biggest quality-of-life boost. Her passive now lets skill hits randomly replace one of the target’s existing wounds with a new one in the direction of the hit. Skill one’s bonus damage to heroes drops from 70% to 55%, but its damage to minions jumps from 100% to 200%, so wave clearing takes far less time.

The 50% slow that lived on her skill one moves to skill two. Hitting an enemy hero with skill two now slows them by 50% for 1 second, though the skill’s path width shrinks by 20%. Her ultimate absorbs the trade-off, with base damage falling from 300-600 to 240-480.

Lylia bounces back after her previous adjustment went too far. Base HP rises from 2,550 to 2,620 and base physical defense from 21 to 23. Small numbers, but the extra durability should help her survive fights longer and engage with more margin.

Aldous punches harder before his stacks come online. Skill one’s base damage climbs from 200-450 to 300-500, which smooths out his early and mid game pressure.

Balmond sees last week’s changes reverted, plus HP growth up from 225 to 240 and a skill one cooldown cut from 10-8 seconds down to 8-6 seconds. More casts, more durability, and better scaling as matches stretch out.

Popol and Kupa enter combat sooner. Skill one’s slow duration stretches from 0.5 to 0.75 seconds, attack speed per stack rises from 5-8% to 7-10%, and movement speed per stack climbs from 2-5% to 3-6%. Max stacks drop from five to three, so the pair reaches full power faster and ganks with less setup.

Nerfs

Gloo finally pays for hitting like a bruiser instead of a tank. His skill one explosion damage falls from 230-380 to 200-350, a cut aimed at damage output rather than his core play pattern.

Atlas loses crowd control time. His passive Frigid Breath drops from 5 seconds to 3 seconds, so enemies stay affected for a shorter window during team fights.

Dyrroth casts skill two less often. Its cooldown rises from 3.5 to 4.5 seconds, giving opponents a bit more breathing room between casts.

Reverts

Barats returns to his previous state entirely. The experimental changes from last week are gone, so anyone who built habits around them gets a clean reset.

Battlefield Changes in MLBB Patch 2.2.28

Glowing Lantern Effect (In Testing)

A new effect called Glowing Lantern is being tested. Periodically, a random lane is selected, and one hero from each team in that lane becomes a lantern bearer.

Defeating the enemy lantern bearer before the time limit expires earns the team a reward and lights the golden lantern at their base. That adds a second objective to fight over, and it makes the selected lane worth watching on the minimap.

Values and visuals may still change, since the effect is in testing. The relevant gameplay will be made available after this week’s patch update.

Golden Turret Mode

Golden Turret loses its extra HP on inner turrets and base turrets. Instead, all turrets gain significantly increased hybrid defense during the first 12 minutes.

The change protects structures early on while keeping turret gold rewards high, so matches shouldn’t drag the way they might have.

Healing Turtle Rewards

Killing an enemy Healing Turtle used to pay significantly less than a minion wave, which left the defending team at an economic disadvantage. Now the gold and EXP from killing an enemy turtle increase substantially and roughly match a minion wave’s rewards.

Allied heroes within range share those rewards. Contesting the turtle is suddenly worth the risk.

Skins, Emotes, and Visual Updates

Upcoming Skins

Mr. Krabs is on the way, and the community hype is already loud. A separate skill effects video covers the full animation set for the skin.

Silvanna’s next Starlight skin dresses her as a peacock assassin, and it comes in multiple shades. Popol and Kupa also get a revamped look, including a fresh basic skin appearance.

Survey Results

Two design surveys closed with clear winners. Argus players picked design number one, the abyss demon look, over a royal prince concept, a darker design, and a fiery final boss idea.

Hilda’s revamp survey went to design number two, the darker armor with golden detailing, beating a fierce warrior design.

Emotes, Borders, and Skill Icons

The emote list grows with an Aang “good job” emote, a new boy emote, a SpongeBob emote for Mr. Krabs, a Lapu Lapu emote for Aurora Gaming PA, and a victory celebration emote. A new bang emote is also coming, though that one stays exclusive to Vietnam.

New Wintour borders arrive alongside a Starlight sacred statue, a new trail effect for the Starlight skin, and painted splash arts. Fresh assets also show up for the M8 event, and Freya’s return is teased.

Skill icons get refreshed for Natalia and Popol and Kupa to match their new looks.

MLBB Community Academy Goes Live

The MLBB Community Academy is now in beta. Layla’s Workshop merges into a new community guide section on the main interface, so hero guide videos sit in one place. Layla’s Workshop itself survives as a tab inside the new section.

Anyone learning a new hero now has a single hub to check before queueing up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the biggest change in MLBB Patch 2.2.28?

Natalia’s revamp. Her passive, skill two, and ultimate all see reworks that add combo options while preserving her ambush style. Every other change in the patch is smaller by comparison.

Is Natalia stronger after the MLBB Patch 2.2.28 revamp?

Stronger in most situations. Wild Pursuit smoke speeds up her conceal, damage taken inside the smoke no longer breaks it, and Shadow Flurry makes her invincible during its strikes. The trade-off is that lingering near an enemy hero for too long still ends her conceal.

Which heroes got buffed in MLBB Patch 2.2.28?

Masha, Lylia, Aldous, Balmond, and Popol and Kupa. Masha clears minions much faster, Lylia gains HP and defense, Aldous hits harder early, Balmond casts more often, and Popol and Kupa build stacks with fewer stacks needed.

Which heroes got nerfed in MLBB Patch 2.2.28?

Gloo, Atlas, and Dyrroth. Gloo’s skill one explosion damage drops, Atlas’s Frigid Breath lasts two seconds less, and Dyrroth’s skill two cooldown rises by one second.

What is the Glowing Lantern effect in MLBB Patch 2.2.28?

A tested battlefield effect where a random lane is chosen and one hero from each team in that lane becomes a lantern bearer. Killing the enemy bearer before the time limit earns a team reward and lights the golden lantern. Gameplay values and visuals are still subject to change.
